Current Dissertations and Theses
All students – graduate and undergraduate graduating from Busitema University are required to deposit their thesis or dissertation electronically through the Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations. The deposited thesis or dissertation should bear the signature of the student/s and all the supervisors.
The thesis and dissertation is an official record of a student, and thus, some of the BDEARS policies and procedures do not apply to these documents. These are:
- Withdrawal policy: Dissertations and theses may not be withdrawn except in extremely exceptional circumstances governed by the Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations.
- Updating documents: Authors and academic advisers may not update or change the dissertation or thesis once it has been deposited in BDEARS except in extremely exceptional circumstances governed by the Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations.
- Access Restrictions: Authors and academic advisers may not directly request an access restriction through BDEARS. These requests must be made by the author to the Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations.
- Metadata Updates: Small corrections to metadata such as corrections to spelling errors may be made through a request in BDEARS. Per communication with the Directorate of Graduate Studies, Research and Innovations, metadata is not considered part of the academic record. However, substantial changes should still be avoided if unnecessary. Metadata records can also be updated to include links to related items, such as a corresponding dataset in the Busitema Data Bank.
