Rights Retained by BDEARS regarding Communities

BDEARS retains the right to:

1. Ensure any Community's organizational structure, Collection policies and workflows are consistent with BDEARS policies and guidelines;
2. Review, amend, and redistribute metadata for any items in BDEARS;
3. Refuse or withdraw any items that do not comply with the BDEARS Collection Policy;
4. Reassign control of an Community which has been abandoned, in order to ensure continued access to its items;
5. Perform any necessary format changes to items to ensure the preservation of content, based on the BDEARS Preservation Policy;
6. Charge a fee for activities requiring extensive centralized support by the Library Collections Management staff (decided on a case-by-case basis); and
7. Renegotiate terms of the original agreement with Communities.
